3200960002_4196432aHans Jørgen Kvåle from Brandbu and Hadeland O team finished European Championship in ski-orienteering with two brilliant race that both gave the podium.

 22-year old finished third in the long distance Sunday after a solid race from start to finish. With time 1,38,17 he was only six seconds behind silver medalist Andrey Lamov from Russia and 1.09 minutes behind Finnish Staffen Tunis won. Eleven seconds behind followed Lars Moholdt from Norway.

Also on Saturday’s relay was the medal Kvåle. He went a good last lap, beating off several tough competitors, but failed to recoup Finland’s Olli Markus Taivainen. The latter led by two minutes on Kvåle his patted on the shoulder, but the goal was the lead dwindled to one minute.

Sølvdag for Norway

Relays Saturday was marked by a proper sølvdag for Norway. Both men senior women senior and junior lady took namely silver.

The Norwegian junior guys with Lynne Kvåle the team finished fourth. The latter went the way his best race in junior Championship on Sunday long distance. 16-year-old walked into a strong 6th place.

For Hans Jørgen Kvåle has championship developed better and better after a tough start with kartrot on miksstafeten and 8th place in the sprint. He took bronze in the middle distance Thursday and followed that up with silver and bronze this weekend.

Kvåle hardly had to reach the finish before he packed suitcase and headed for Kazakhstan and new World Cup rounds in the week to come.
